Scope
Kitchen design, two-tone lacquered cabinetry, quartz worktops, island with seating, appliance integration
Warm taupe-greige upper cabinets over deep navy lowers — a palette that holds the kitchen's drama in the lower half while keeping the eye relaxed above. The navy was chosen with the north light of the room in mind: a tone that reads as almost black in flat light but opens into a rich blue in the afternoon sun that floods the west-facing window.
The greige upper cabinets were formulated to carry the warmth of the stone worktop — a Calacatta quartz with gold movement — into the vertical plane. The navy lower units were lacquered in a slightly sheen finish that reflects the pendant lights as elongated glimmers above the island. The island itself seats four, in the same navy tone, and functions as the room's social heart.

"The navy changes colour through the day. It sounds odd but it makes the kitchen feel alive in a way I didn't expect."
