Luxury Kitchen Design in Queens.

Bespoke kitchens designed around how you live, hand-built in our own Queens joinery, and installed by our own team — for discerning homeowners across the borough we call home.

Queens, New York

A Queens studio building kitchens worthy of the borough’s finest homes.

Queens is where HS Kitchens Studio was founded, and it remains the home of our joinery. From pre-war apartments in Forest Hills to new construction in Long Island City, from single-family houses in Bayside and Douglaston to the townhouse blocks of Astoria, we have spent more than twenty-five years designing and building kitchens for the most particular homeowners in New York City’s largest borough.

A luxury kitchen is not a catalogue of expensive materials. It is a room resolved around the way a household cooks, gathers, and entertains — drawn before it is built, and built before it is installed. Every commission begins with a private consultation in your home, where we listen to how you live before we draw a single line.

Because our designers and makers work under one roof in Queens, the same hands that draw your kitchen build it, and the same person who designs it stays involved through installation. Nothing is outsourced, nothing is lost in translation, and nothing arrives at your home that we have not already checked against the drawings.

The Approach

Designed around your life, built to outlast it.

A kitchen should answer the household that uses it, not the trends of the year it was built. We begin every Queens commission with a conversation in your home — about how you cook, who gathers, what you entertain, and what the room must do that it cannot do today. From that conversation we develop concept plans, elevations, lighting design, and a material board, presented in person and refined until every detail is intentional.

Only when the design is settled does your commission enter our joinery. Timber is selected by leaf and matched for grain direction across every facing panel. Drawers are dovetailed and squared against the drawings. Finishes are hand-applied — painted, oiled, or lacquered — in the light of the workshop where they will be judged. Stone is selected slab by slab at the yard, with you present, so the vein that travels your counter is the vein you chose.

Installation is carried out by our own fitters, never subcontracted. The cabinetry is scribed to your walls, calibrated, dressed, and documented. When we leave, the kitchen is yours — and the relationship continues, with aftercare for as long as you own it.

Queens Experience

Kitchens built for the homes and households of Queens.

Queens is a borough of distinct architectures, and a kitchen that suits a Forest Hills Tudor will not suit a Long Island City glass tower. We have designed for both, and for the colonials of Bayside, the Tudors of Jamaica Estates, the garden apartments of Kew Gardens, and the converted lofts of Astoria. Each asks its own answer — in proportion, in material, in the relationship between the kitchen and the room around it.

Pre-war apartments in Queens often have generous proportions but limited plumbing and electrical routes; we plan around the building, not against it. New construction in Long Island City and Flushing gives us clean structure but demands a kitchen that earns the view. Single-family homes in Douglaston and Little Neck give us room to breathe — pantries, dressing rooms, and the cabinetry that turns a house into a home.

Whatever the architecture, the standard is the same: a kitchen that looks as though it was always meant to be there, built to be repaired rather than replaced, and cared for by the studio that built it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Luxury kitchen design in Queens — your questions answered.

Do you design kitchens for homes anywhere in Queens?

Yes. HS Kitchens Studio is based in Queens and holds in-home consultations across the entire borough — including Astoria, Long Island City, Forest Hills, Flushing, Bayside, Douglaston, Jamaica Estates, Kew Gardens, and beyond. Consultations are by appointment.

How much does a luxury kitchen cost in Queens?

Bespoke kitchen commissions typically start at $25,000 and range upward depending on scope, materials, and custom cabinetry requirements. After your consultation we provide a tailored proposal with a clear, itemised investment.

How long does a custom kitchen take from design to installation?

A complete luxury kitchen design and installation usually takes 12–20 weeks from the first consultation to final handover, depending on complexity, material lead times, and building schedules.

Do you build the cabinetry yourselves or order it?

We build every cabinet in our own Queens joinery. Nothing is ordered from a catalogue and nothing is subcontracted. The same hands that draw your kitchen build it, and our own fitters install it.

Can you work with my architect or interior designer?

Yes. We regularly collaborate with architects and designers across Queens and greater New York, integrating our cabinetry and kitchen design into a wider architectural plan.

Is the design consultation free?

Yes. The initial in-home consultation is complimentary, with no obligation. Contact us at info@hskitchenss.com to arrange a visit.
